"I love you," Mattie said. She paused, almost tasting the words in her mouth, mulling them over.

"… I love you," she repeated, but in a deeper, velvety voice this time. There was silence again as she let it echo in her mind. After a few seconds, she groaned and buried her face in her arms, folded together on top of the desk at which she was sitting.

"It doesn't sound right," she complained aloud to no one in particular, even though there was no one there anyway.

"I think it sounds wonderful when you say it in that second voice," said Matt, standing right behind her. "I accept your feelings for me, my dear. Let us elope, post haste!"

Mattie sat up abruptly, a bright flush covering her face. Apparently someone was there.

"Not you, Matt!" she shouted, flustered. "This is for my story!"

Her long brown hair whirled as she turned to face him. She was still in her pajamas due to today being her day off. The two soft mountains of her large breasts swung with their owner, settled, and appeared to form a second pair of accusing eyes. Matt reached for her actual set of eyes, and plucked the fake slim glasses off the bridge of her nose.

"Your story doesn't need fake glasses to make it better," he scolded her, shaking his finger at her lightly. Mattie hung her head in shame, feeling helpless without the glasses to hide behind.

"But they make me feel smarter. I feel sophisticated with them on," she pouted. "Glasses give off the vibe that I've ruined my eyes from countless hours of musing over small, cramped handwriting." With this, she raised her head and clasped her hands together, eyes sparkling. Matt groaned and turned his back on her, putting the glasses in his pocket.

"You don't need made-up experience to give off the impression that you're a good writer," he commented. "The reader won't see you anyway." It was his day off too, but he was dressed to head out; he even had his shoes on. The only thing missing was his iconic blue jacket, but it was hot outside so he didn't need it anyway. He turned around to look at Mattie again. "Now c'mon: put some clothes on so we can go somewhere," he said with a smile.

"All right, all right… Aren't you supposed to be the lazy one while I'm the one who gets on your case?" grunted Mattie as she stretched her arms out behind her head.

"Usually, yeah," Matt answered, still standing in her room.

"… Err, you going to get out so I can change?"

"I would, but I figured you'd need some help getting that bra on," he said, grinning. "Or off. Whichever order it is."

Mattie shook her head and laughed. "All right, fine. Make yourself useful and hand me my blouse over there on the bureau, will you?" she said, pointing at the drawers behind him and taking her shirt off.

"Eh? I don't see one?" Matt remarked turning away to look where Mattie told him. He started to turn back toward her. "Are you s-"

Suddenly, he couldn't see anything as Mattie threw her shirt over his face, then kicked him out of her room.

"Yeah, uh, helping me change clothes? Not going to happen," she said, and closed the door.
Got bored in English and was feeling an urge to bring back Matt and Mattie, as well as work on fleshing out my stories more.

Wanted to try and emphasize Matt and Mattie's relationship while making it amusing. Durrhurr: it ended up feeling like something from Love Hina.

To those who don't know and are confused by the title, Mattie is Matt's anima/feminine side, but they tell people that they're siblings.

My first thought when I came across your drawings of these two was "Hey, someone should write a story about them."
My second thought was "Hey, maybe I could write a story about them!"
My third thought was rudely interrupted by this story taking the words out of my mouth.  Ah, well, such is life.  Amazing little story, I especially like the similarities/contrasts between this one and Somewhat Soldiers.  Do you think you'll do more writing like this in the future?
