Also, she likes it best as cute/humorous, and that's something I value.
These are her and her boyfriend's characters, at a larger size than usual (as requested). She was fine with me just doing a lineart, but I felt guilty and wanted to do more for her, so I colored, shaded, and highlighted it. That still didn't feel like enough though, so I went and threw a background in, as well as experimental "light peeking through leaves" shading and lighting. This is a very tentative effect and my first time doing it, so I'm not really looking for critiques on it.
