hmm.... honestly, i pretty much hate them both. i mean, it'd be fine if it was just another show, then i'd just not care for it, but the simple fact that it has become a pedantic explosive meme is just.... it annoys the crap outta me. so no prob if one likes it, i just hate that it seems that such things have completely smeared away the whole net. i just.... i hate how big it is, while megas xlr got cancelled long ago. oh well, that's just me i suppose, that is all.
When it comes to Andrew Hussie's comics I'd suggest you read Problem Sleuth [link] before anything else, if you're still interested. Completely seperate from Homestuck and not as complicated. It also has the added benefit of not having any shirtless fanart. At least I hope it doesn't.
I liked both before I knew either was popular. The fanbase overlap is so big that, when probing someone for possible homestuck references, I tend to quote MLP first, since its quotes are more identifiable.
The problem with quoting sbahj first is that if you think too hard about it, everything is a reference.
Mildly interested in homestuck and mlp I guess. homestuck comes out ahead just a bit for my now having to download anything bigger than a flash file half the time, wheras mlp is more for seeing how the insane fanbase on /co/ may twist it rather than actually watching it. I believe I've only seen the first episode for it.
